The Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade of the Australian Parliament recently invited me to make a submission to the Inquiry into establishing a Modern Slavery Act in Australia. So, while sitting the Bar Transfer Test (BTT) to qualify as a barrister in England and Wales, I wrote the following submission principally on the basis of my previous writings on the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (UK).
